This unique one day CASC preparation course has been set up by higher trainees with recent and up-to-date experience of the examination. The course will focus on developing communication skills and applying these in the CASC environment. As part of the course you will also be contacted before the event with some tasks and a questionnaire to complete in order for the course to best meet your needs.
Included in the course will be an opportunity to be filmed performing a mock CASC station and then receiving feedback. You will also receive a comprehensive manual covering the skills practiced during the course and further advice on preparing for the CASC.
This course will have a limited number of 18 places per day, and a high ratio of facilitators to participants. We will be using trained actors who are familiar with CASC style examinations. Active participation will be expected and you will be working in small and large groups. You will practice CASC stations in small groups and be expected to give appropriate and constructive feedback to your peers. These scenarios will not be running as a mock CASC, but will be a formative experience to help you develop your skills.
This course is being run at a not-for-profit rate and any surplus will be reinvested in running the course again. Places will be allocated on first come first served basis, however, we will be running a waiting list and if demand is high.
